Even tho I lol'd very much and I agree with most of what you say. I think, the reality (at least in javascript) is that when you're a beginner, it's really hard to do things in vanilla. Hard to understand and, as you said it, hard to learn, because most "teachers" will tell you to just go for the frameworks. And once you're waist deep in jquery, it's really hard to get out of it, cause most of the work you've done depends on plugins, and all your understanding of how things really work are through the library. I think what the industry really needs is a bible, of good practices and how to get things done the right way, from zero to ninja. From hello world to a full responsive, interactive website.
