The art of finding solutions to problems that you didn't know existed.

As a developer you will be doing a lot of different things. Sometimes you will run across a problem and it may take you some time to work out the solution. By blogging your experience and solution you may help someone else in the future. I have actually found that my own blog posts have helped me in the future. I tend to forget things. Yes I think having a blog is a very good idea for a developer. I am speaking from experience I have had one for five years now.

For me it will always be Jon Skeet I am inspired by how much he wants to help others.

For me it was good old fashion dos. The University i graduated from didn't even have Windows 3.1 until just after my last simester. I think this is why I still enjoy using comand line interface for things like Git.

If you could say one thing to someone new to programming. What would it be?
