Here is my "I don't know" analogy. When we were small kids we are very much dependent on our parents since they watch our safety, feed/clothes us, so much everything how we grow depends on them. There are couples who can't have children so they adopt. Now it is easy life for the adopted b/c without his/her "depender" life for him/her would be difficult. In my opinion, dependencies made the JavaScript tool more robust.
