Mad River Garlic Growers

Mad River Garlic Growers is a small, sustainable, certified-organic family farm located near John Bryan State Park in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Each season, they hand-plant, weed, harvest, hang, and cure over 80,000 garlic bulbs on nearly 10 acres—no irrigation is required due to balanced local rainfall. Their 100% certified organic, non-GMO garlic seed stock has been checked for the presence of garlic bloat nematode and is grown using OMRI-approved fertilisers with developing crop rotation. The farm manages its environment by preserving milkweed for monarch butterflies, allowing deer grazing at the end of the season, erecting bluebird houses, and even carefully relocating salamanders before harvest.
