This is how I see it. How does this speed up my workflow? It doesn't change anything. In fact, it's just a new thing to adapt to in my opinion. I do see the advantage of the gain of speed ("can compile on runtime") but do we really not see the risk of people adjusting css on the live server? I am not saying anybody here does this, we are all pro's ahem but there is always one nutjob in the project that makes it happen. Anyway, thanks for this, I like your view on the modification of Bootstrap or other framework. That's a valid point.

What is your view on the workflow for this? I love your code in codepen, but all i see is a shift horizontally and not upwards. A change on runtime practially means to me, change the stylesheet.css (which could quite likely mean a very long file). So if you don't do this with a good strategy - you will change many elements which might not all need change. Then how is that different to using regular variables in sass.

I think respecting someone's values and opinions is just a regular human norm.. It's not a perk. We all should tolerate someone's values and opinions.

I read through the article. Marinated on it. Read all the responses. Marinated on that. And I think I have the same as you do. This might be good for projects where a lot of people work short periods of time, but still isn't the organisation of components and modules basically our job to manage before we start a project? I don't know about this, guys. It just looks like a horizontal move instead a move forward in improving the quality of our products.

I don't use it for the grid, but some of the components and the js. I am not a fan of the classes in my markup. I want that to be as clean as possible. If i don't make my own grid i either use Susy Grid or Singularity. Otherwise I use bootstrap for temporary gigs like concepting. Whip that baby up fast!

oh and don't forget the box-sizing (i sometimes forget to check if a project has it)

It's not that complicated. Just take a container width of 960px or 1280px divide it between the amount of columns you wish to have, the result is the column width (without inner or outer padding). You can use %, em's or px's but the same principle applies. It all depends on the nature of your project and what device the end users favors. As a seasoned front-end dev my advice is not to use html based grids (like bootstrap). In the long run, you'll end up spending time adjusting the HTML file AND the css and you'll have not learned anything. Also, your project will end up looking horrible and you'll have to hack it all with :after's and position:absolute and whatnot. Bootstrap/foundation is wonderful for concepts and temporary gigs. But really, if you really want to learn? Make your own grid on codepen or something based on what I said above.

Are you interested in design or the coding? Because the RWD is a very loose world where you have adaptive, responsive and fluid designs. And are you interested in the grid system? And yeah, go with Sass. That's much more important to learn.
