Schema itemscopes are very very important. Google has started using it extensively. Also, they are not associated with any particular organisation. Hence, all search engines (Google, Bing and DuckDuckGo) have started using Schema tags. Og tags by Facebook and Twitter tags are soon going to be obsolete.
I didn't know about Stamplay. Thanks for mentioning. But unless my needs are complex I always tend to go with Firebase. In most of the simple prototypes we just need a data store and some authentication which is handled pretty well by Firebase. Sometimes I have also used Parse for simple Mobile prototypes (mostly with Ionic).
I really like the fact that browsers will load the right image for the right device. This was something that the developers had to do manually for every application and it has been taken care of now. Anything that saves lines of codes is good. :)
