I'm the same, started with Sublime, went to Atom and currently on VS Code. VS Code isn't quite a fast as Sublime but its JS support is far better in my experience.

I used to use Microsoft Comfort Curve keyboards which I loved but they don't last very long. I ended up with a CM Storm QuickFire with cherry brown switches and so far it's the longest lasting keyboard I've had. I've got the TenKeyless version which gives a bit more space for the mouse.
