My linkedin profile gives a flavor, but doesn't tell my story. I was inspired as a kid, building computers and teaching myself to program. I helped my father with a couple of startups, and went to Carnegie Mellon to learn more. I came away with a degree in Cognitive Science, ready to put it to good use - just as another AI winter settled in. I became a consultant, and although that wasn't my passion I got to see inside the business world, especially the wrong ways to do things, and help get them on track. With a growing family I heard the advice of my heroes, "spend more time with your family". So in 2004 I branched out on my own, being there for the kids during the day and working into the night building a successful software solutions company. After Covid I dipped my toes back into the corporate world, but the pull of the AI revolution was on. Now I'm looking for the perfect team to join and to contribute to something magical.
