But, Version by version, Upgrade is becoming easier. Upgrade is painful since the core is changing a lot in this point of time. I hope that if they start releasing 1.x, then we mostly won't face this issue. Not sure about flutter..

React native won't be the right platform to make Android Launcher. Even if you want to make, You have to detach from expo to do these kind of stuffs.

React Native and NativeScript are not using WebView like Cordova and Ionic. Both React Native and NativeScript are better than Cordova and Ionic in Performance. If you are a web developer and you want to make simple android application without any knowledge about native platforms, then go with Cordova or Ionic . You can use PanResponder to make it work. You can use the React Native Gestures module if you want. This module is using PanResponder . If the animations which you need is standard animations, then going with the native implementation will be better. If you just want normal Pinch to Zoom effect, You can go with React Native Photo View . This module is using PhotoDraweeView for Android and MWPhotoBrowser for iOS. This module can give you buttery smooth animations.
