Ms. Zaahirah Atchia, originally from Mauritius, is an acclaimed leader in innovation. She has helmed Radio-Canada in Ontario since December 2021, the first woman from a diverse background in this role. Active in the cooperative movement and French-speaking community, Ms. Atchia also leads the EDI bubble within Regional Media. She formerly directed Toronto's French-language community radio station and represented Ontario on the Alliance des radios communautaires du Canada. Under her leadership, a new journalistic bureau was launched in London in September.
