From your description it sounds like you're a designer and a front-end developer. Why do you think they're so separate? Is it in the tools youre using?

Interesting you have designers so separate. What if there was no Photoshop mockup and instead the site was designed using HTML/CSS in the browser. Maybe prototyping with Bootstrap/Foundation?

How was the panel discussion set up?

gov.uk - Focussed on content and users. Simple and to the point. Solves problems, not following trends.

Personal projects yes, work projects I'd put stuff into the backlog.

I think some design role as I'm interested in that too. Maybe a teacher.

Main thing I've learnt is testing. Automated testing, manual testing. Exploratory, checking etc. In University and my previous freelance work we didn't do much at all. So joining a company and seeing how this is done was really interesting to me. One thing that was especially new was the idea that testing is owned by everyone including developers. If you feel like you're the closest and most valuable to test then you should. I think that's interesting view that is against the QA approach. I'm still learning but feel so much more comfortable with it now, think it's an interesting area.

I use a Mac even though I prefer using Linux, I want it easy for workmates to pair with me.
