I have transitioned to Linux a few months back and there is no going back. For the emoji picker, "smile" is a great alternative. I have configured a shortcut("ctrl" + ".") that gives the same vibe as "spacebar" + "." in Windows. Till now, Linux is going great, I still have to explore the gaming aspects though.
