I think that coding is not just, wath a i call, a 'solid/primary skill' (reading, writing, counting, and now, coding). I think it's also a 'practical skill' (like cooking, healing, ect.) and therefore, it can be used to produce new things, new horizons and thus to disturb the old good world.
By example :
- Imagine a world where DDOS attack on london's metro service is possible.
- Imagine a market that can not be controlled and estimated as the dark net has.
- Imagine there is no 'third-party currency' anymore but just 'decentralized and self-managed currency' (think BTC and ETH).
- Imagine no more centralized and obfuscated apps and app-store, just decentralized apps and decentralized decisions.
Contrary to writing and counting, coding can, potentially, be very disturbing (as counting was at the beginning (thinks about the advances in the war)) at this moment.
Finally, wath prevents us to disturb the world and to say : 'YES, we can do better things to make a better world' ?
