Heroku has a free tier which is fairly limited. It is good for trying out experiments and hobby projects but for production applications prices go up fairly high.
Similarly AWS provides you free credits for a year when you sign up. Again it is fairly limited.
Your best bet is to opt for a lower range subscription for a service like DigitalOcean, Linode or Lightsail.
You can always use Heroku / Amazon AWS EC2 ( 1 year free with limited specs ) for hosting your app. When the app gains traction you can monetise to pay for servers. You can also consider Digitalocean for a cheaper alternative to Amazon AWS EC2
