Using code generators will literally mess up the mock up itself. Based on my experience, I tried to use a code generator for the simple mock-up I am working in Photoshop and convert it. It is a complete disaster because they align all the elements into tables (td) which makes CSS hard to implement in the elements.
A solid grasp of knowledge on developing a website itself is still the best way. It is way easier and way more efficient.
