My company has a big code-base (mainly a component library) written in Angular which we'd love to port to Vue but it's too much work to do it in one go.

Are there any plans for an official way to use Vue in existing AngularJS apps to slowly transition? There are a few tutorials and 'hacky' suggestions on the web but I think lots of people would make the jump if it was easier.

There's no official solution (or plans) for that, but you can use https://github.com/ngVue/ngVue to progressively migrate an angular app to Vue. I know of a French company called Toucan Toco which is doing the migration but using a custom angular directives for Vue component I think. What I did personally with great success in a project of mine is to create a Vue app (using vue-cli and webpack template) alongside with the Angular app. Communication between the two apps was done via a global event bus (an empty Vue instance). To display a Vue component inside the Angular app, @linusborg's Portal Vue was utilized.
