I agree that Webpack is powerful, but what do you think Webpack is not good at doing by its design choices?

External CSS file. The extract-text-plugin works fine but for me it always looks like a hack… The problem is here that in webpack CSS is something dynamic and not compile-time constant. This makes it complex to put CSS into a static file. The current solution is the build the CSS into a JS file and evaluate this file to get the CSS source… But I don’t know a better solution.

Agreed. Also, HTML files as entry points are still a big problem. A true module bundler for the web should also understand HTML as entry point :)

It would be cool to use webpack also for simple, static sites. This is already possible but it feels like a huge hack.
