I try to accomplish the same but wasn't successful either. The docs are sadly not very helpful. The source of react-select does it like this:

NoOptionsMessage = () => "no items available";

May this is the way to go I hadn't had a chance to try this out yet due my strong time schedule this month 🙄

I know about NoOptionsMessage, but the problem is that I need to push new option in this situation. It seems impossible, which is very sad situation for me, because I have spent around 6 hours on this. My project manager won't be happy, so I'll try to make my own component. Thank you anyway :)

You want to push a new entry if no entries are in the collection? Why you don't just push an entry into the same collection and add a disabled attribute? Shouldn't do this the trick?

What is the benefit of adding a real entry instead of that existing message that you evaluate creating a select component yourself?
