I've been working for someone else for way too long and am considering going out on my own. I've done freelance work in the past but just because the opportunities found me. I've been on sites like Upwork and Fiverr but was wondering if there are better approaches to finding quality freelance work.
j
stuff ;)
If you're freelancing for a while you will sometimes work on your own, sometimes with a team. The main thing I like is the change. I like to get new challenges and finishing things. If you're building a product you are often never finished and if you're working for an agency you are often put in the meat-grinder.
So I, after doing freelancing for ~4+ years now and having ~7+ as an employee in various companies, can say for myself that a lot of the advantages are mainly how we want to perceive things and less what they are ..... you're also working for a company, they cannot 'force you' to do things but if you want to eat you have to do them anyways .... it's a lot about the illusion of freedom, self-organisation, self-administration and self-motivation.
We can argue about money as well, but freelancing does not give you money or quality persè. it just makes you your own boss so it doubles the responsibility and you can explore a little more about yourself.
That's how I see it at least today gg ask me again tomorrow :).
