I'm from Brazil and I'm looking for jobs abroad in the development field for a little time now but haven't had any lucky.
Employers claim that I am perfect for the job position but they don't provide nor wait for me to realocate.
Most of my friends tell me that I should just go and look for a job because "they are pretty sure I'm gonna find one".
What are your opinions about this and how can I succeed on this (almost the most important) dream?
From South Africa here (fellow BRICS country), looking to move to Europe, maybe Germany, as soon as they hear South Africa, no further correspondence, so getting the same treatment. (to be fair, I've only tried two companies, will intensify the search in the near future)
I believe that the best way is to try with startups, usually they're the ones that does not care where you came from, where you are born as long as you know how to do the job. I'm from Mexico, living and working and we have a lot of foreigners working on small to big companies but usually are small and medium companies that employs foreigners. You can try searching online job offers sites and trying your luck with countries that are looking and need people with special knowledge like software and web development like Canada and Australia (that i know of). Good luck... PD: also try Sillicon Valley they are employing a lot of foreigners with specialised skills
I'm sure you'll be able to find one at relocate.me. Have you tried using it yet?

Hello
Before I left France to come to Canada, I first visited it (several times) and I sent resumes, letting them know that I'll be there and available for in-person interviews. As I hadn't any work permit at that time, it was obvious that it was not for immediate hire, but it helped making connections. If the company then struggle hiring someone locally, you are in first place. I had that luck and the company helped me getting my work permit, which make moving to the country much more easier.
There's many other faster and more direct ways, but generally, people will hire people that are already there first, then people they have already met.
