I am sure we have a few people onboard who have actually worked in both places.
Here's my tale:
I have worked with very active developer teams from the US at both of my previous jobs, in fact, my mentors worked out of the US offices. I also worked with them in person for a couple of months when I visited Detroit in 2014.
From what I can say, the programming styles are not very different. In fact, it's exactly the same. You design an architecture, you get it approved, you code it and you ship it.
