Do you plan on leaving programming and become product manager or CxO or something? Why and why not?
I've passed on management opportunities because I love coding. It brings me a satisfaction unlike anything else. It's been an amazing journey starting with the PCjr and cartridge basic to RoR, Node.js, TensorFlow... I can't wait to see what comes next. Managing it is not the same as doing it everyday. I'm not getting off this ride!
I'm in a management position now after 15 years of coding. I love the management side of things – it's a bunch of new challenges and a chance to give engineers chances to grow that I never had.
But the trade-off for me is that I have to find time to code at home. I've been doing it since I was a kid, and it's as much a part of life to me as breathing.
I voted No as a personal preference, but if I would get a offer to climb the ladder, I'd take it. Would still code on my spare time at work and on my free time at home.
j

i am already in a lead / management position still I clicked No and I guess I always will select no :)
