The lottery is held on the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month. The draw of lots is done on the 1st Friday, while that for the 3rd Friday takes place on the 2nd Friday, after which it goes into effect from noon onwards on Kolkata Fatafat Patti Chart. For winning numbers first three digits are drawn from a drum and fourth digit (the star) is generated by a ball machine mechanism. The first prize winner gets Rs. 25 lakhs, second prize winner gets Rs. 5 lakh
