Try not to close yourself off to opportunities with broad stroke statements. You never know where opportunities may come from.
Developers have a great advantage in that they don't have to be in an office. A solid internet connection and a good work ethic can land work in the environment of your choice.
My advice is to build a portfolio of your work, check out job boards, go to meet-ups, and pursue your thought about networking!
