Hello All!
I'm going to be of an outsider here as I'm not truly a developer. My professional description sounds something like this;
Everyday I'm a creative person. Every other day I'm a technical person.
I work for a large CPG/Food company as an in-house designer and developer. Most of the coding work I do here is 'add-on' front end functionality to a large E-Commerce platform. I am forever the person reminding people in suits and ties that we design for mobile first (and they think I'm nuts).
The majority of work I do is on the creative end. Graphic design, photography, image retouching, etc. I've always had something to do with website design from an image perspective. Over time, that lead to an interest in web development. I'm mostly self-taught in aspects of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. I'm a believer in clean code. I'm a believer in not using more than you need to. I'm a believer that you should code responsibly, ethically and leave code in a better place than where you found it – if not for you, then for the next person who will take it on.
For side projects, I use PHP and MySQL for making websites more than just brochure-ware. I try to take the view that whatever framework/library/technology I have in front of me at the time is yet another tool in my tool box. I try to ask the questions that that the client or project would ask and evaluate what the right next step is.
I enjoy Hashnode because it is about community first. It's friendly channel for me to learn more with the support of others and to offer support where I can.
