Greeting, all. I am Gregory Anthony (Greg) Baryza. I wrote my first program in 1966 in machine-language on an IBM 1401. I retired in 2016. My whole career centered around computers and software development. I held positions from individual developer to Sr. VP of Engineering in multiple industries. I also did stints in technical Marketing, Product Management, and Customer Service. I am most proud of being part of the Multics project in the early 1980's.
These days I use my talents (such as they are) to teach children and adults about software development, and applied genealogy research. I develop in mostly in Java, Python, and Lisp now. In the course of my career, I've used assemblers, FORTRAN, COBOL, ESPOL (Burroughs), BLISS (DEC), PL/I, BCPL, B, C, C++, XML & XSLT, and F#. These days I'm dabbling in Go and Rust, and thinking about getting serious with Haskell.
I joined Hashnode to stay in touch and just keep an eye on what's happening.
Any questions, just ask.
