What are some good famous apps built with it? Or are there any other frameworks you suggest I learn for desktop app development?

For apps that use standard controls and a basic look and feel, tkinter is great. I've built a full desktop application for data processing with it. Other options may look better and provide advanced or new controls.
What other options have you used? Anything you would suggest?

The GUI I have seen with Tk is absolute shit. I think there are better alternatives available for GUI building...

Sorry, I don't... I haven't explored that part of Python to be honest.. But a google search shall give you what you need, I guess.
