Adding to @mgiambanco said, I would suggest using Envato services, stuff like ThemeForest and CodeCanyon. Envato has a large market and people can easily sell their web apps.
And that's what I didn't really understand about the question. Is he trying to sell the app as a product, like you said, on Envato, or trying to get more customers for a service under his control and on his servers?
