I rebuilt my portfolio site using Polymer to see what it was like. My needs were simple. The site was previously built in Meteor so it was really easy to port. Now I can host the site anywhere a plain HTML+js website can be hosted, including free places like bitbucket.
Unfortunately I find the Polymer documentation rather lacking and the framework to lack any opinion at all. It took a while to figure out how to build the site, and it's more guesswork than following best-practices.
That said, I enjoyed my time with Polymer and would build with it again.
