Don't use just one. Use the best one for the area of your system that you're working on.

My IDE environment:

Visual Studio 2015 Update 2 for C# and .NET programming
WebStorm for web and JavaScript development
Toad or SQL management studio for SQL/Oracle stuff
VS Code for quick .NET edits and proof of concepts where I don't want to spin up a whole VS project or burn the resources (memory, disk, CPU, etc) that VS requires.

With webstorms console can I use bash commands and things like apt-get update? I am on windows 10. Also can you use the console for downloading npm packages and/or using things like ember-cli or gulp?

Are jet brains packages free? Webstorm for instance?

Are you running the version of Windows 10 with bash installed? If not, you'll have to wait for the anniversary update. Windows 10 doesn't really have native bash support yet unless you're on an insider preview. Once it's there, it should work with WebStorm, but I won't be able to confirm that until the next release drops.

Oh okay. I was just wondering if webstorm would recognize the new files. VS will not recognize certain files which is annoying. But I use git bash the only thing is I do not have sudo or apt-get.
