10:00 Forgot boss emailed me about the failing task the night before. (turns out to be debugging code I forgot to remove)
10:05 Find out there are 35 automated error reports all having to do with someone trying to access something they don't have access to. (trying to decide if they are worth looking into)
10:05:10 Nope they aren't. If someone really wanted access they just have to ask.
10:06 Back to youtube. (more caffeine, not quite awake yet)
11:00 Go home for lunch.
11:01 Listen to articles in my car on my ride home (@voice aloud reader. seriously best article reader ever, and i've tried them all)
11:15 2 year old running up to me with arms wide open. "DADDY'S HOME!!!" (It's volume 11 or nothing)
11:20 Sit down to a gourmet meal cooked by my amazing wife. (It's usually leftovers from days before, but still delicious.)
11:45 Time to go back to work. (kisses and hugs all around)
11:50 Only one more kiss and hug from my little girl.
11:55 Ok, just one more hug and kiss. (She has me wrapped around her cute little pudgy finger)
12:00 Wave to my little princess, who is screaming out the living room window because I ran out the door when she wasn't looking so I could actually get back to work.
12:01 More article listening
12:15 Finish up youtube subscriptions and TED talks
13:00 Earphones in. Time to start programming. (listening to Lindsey Stirling in case you were wondering)
13:30 Get an email from my boss about updates being installed tonight at 19:00 for one of our software suites
13:45 Setup automated script to run at 19:30 to add all of my views/stored procedures/triggers back into the database that they will wipe out in the update
13:50 Back to programming.
14:00 Notice the comment component isn't prerendering a comment before the ajax request (Of course all the tests pass)
14:30 Still debugging. Looks like it doesn't know where to put the comment even though I told it exactly where. (Listens about as well as my kids do)
14:35 Boss stops by my desk to see how the project is going. (I say "good")
14:36 Where was I? Oh ya the comments aren't prerendering before the ajax request (sound familiar)
15:00 Back to where I was at 14:30 before my boss decide to interrupt me for "just one minute" (as if it's hard to see a long white cord from my computer to my ears)
15:15 Turns out the comment is doing a strict equals check for the comment id and someone decided it was ok to pull integers out of a database as strings.
15:30 Time for more caffeine and a walk around the office to return the blood flow to my legs
17:00 Time to go home. Just one little thing to finish up.
17:10 Almost done. Just one little thing to finish up.
17:13 found one more little thing to finish up.
17:15 I swear I am done after finishing up this one little thing
17:30 Finally on my way home. (My wife is going to kill me, maybe I can tell her traffic was horrible)
17:45 "DADDY'S HOME!!!" (more hugs and kisses, definitely the best thing about having kids)
17:46 Warm up food that has been sitting on the table for 30 minutes (people just don't know how to drive in this town)
18:00 Play dress up, legos, videos games, barbies (Who needs a gym membership when you have kids)
20:00 Time for kids to get to bed.
20:15 Ok one more book.
20:30 How many books do you have? (Kids: "just one more")
20:31 Trying to slide my hand out from under a sleeping childs head like they are a rabid lion and my life depends on them not waking up. (It's harder than you would think)
21:00 Finally get some peace and quiet so I can work on a side project.
22:00 Find a bug in one of my dependencies.
22:15 Submit a pull request to fix the bug.
22:20 Get a review on the pull request to reformat the module you fixed because they were going to do it anyway (all I want to do is fix my issue)
23:00 Finish reformatting the module.
00:00 Get a review on the pull request that my fix needs a test.
00:15 Finish writing the test. (I should really go to bed, eyelids are starting to droop)
00:16 I'll go to bed after I fix this one little thing.
