I am a node.js developer and after trying out other static js frameworks (wintersmith and harp) hexo was the clear winner. They also have an incredible assortment of prebuilt themes to choose from. tranquil-peak-hexo-theme (github.com/LouisBarranqueiro/tranquilpeak-hexo-th…) is particularly impressive and actively maintained. I am using it now for my personal site: cleechtech.github.io
