I am a backend engineer, working mainly with Node.js and GoLang, I have tried AngularJS before, like 2 years ago, but i found it boring, should I consider to take a look again on ReactJS and Flux?
What skills are needed for the front end dev that differs from backend skills?
If you think you can do responsive design on css3 and javascript, you should go for it. But you should also master any of the frameworks such as react/angular/vue etc. Designing user friendly UI and UX is challenging and will give you fun, i think which you need. @eslam Yes, you can do only javascript. But with good ui design skill it will be great.
you just need a good knowlegde on css3/ responsive design Javascript and then u have to master some javascript framework angular2 / reactJs/ Vue Js ... for the rest its very similar with backend development looping throught arrays lists maps etc :p

I think the first question you need to ask, is what is it exactly that you are interested in? Hone in on what that interest is and you'll find that there are more options available to you. For example, I've known for a while that one of my key interests is in the interaction between systems and between people, and so no matter what position I've held or what project I've worked on it's had something to do with this facet of technology, and I've always enjoyed myself.
