Scouting for UX Design Interns is a process dependent on several factors such as the city you operate out of, the starting date of the internship, and duration of the internship. However, there are many resources that can help you with this process. You can post job listings on popular portfolio hosting websites such as Dribbble and Behance.

Here is the link for the Dribbble Job Listings Page and the Behance Job Listings Page. You could simply search for your city on Behance and Dribble and it would display designers in that area as well.

Alternatively, LinkedIn, can be a useful portal when looking to hire people in your area.

Although your recommendations are definitely an option they are not the best way to find interns. We've had great success for example finding programming interns reaching out to coding bootcamps and the main reason we were asking about this on the design side. Finally our interns can be remote therefore the city really doesn't have any impact.

@Mannygenri If you are open recruiting interns to work remotely then that opens up a lot of options. This is the way I personally look for designers in and around my city and I've found it's a reliable approach to finding and recruiting designers :)
