What is the best way to prepare for a major build? Which build tools do you prefer and why? If other, please explain which tools and why not any of the ones mentioned?
Worked for a huge multi-national firm that had a very nice Jenkins setup : Scheduled and unscheduled builds; Queues; Nice integration capabilities with other project management suites and source code repos. I have come across Hudson in smaller projects. I suppose it depends on the setup :)

don't mind :) dont forget bamboo, the github infrastructur, teamcity as well as custom build scripts ... whatever floats your boat is my opinion :)
