well Amir Anwar, actually it's a valid point! How to stay sane :) I think it's variation. Change technologies, fields even businesses. My formal education is management (MBA). Back then in this area there were even no good universities for IT. When you mix those too, you get a large variations of things you do. After years, that mix is my best credential so I often do business process optimization from management to development. I speak "both languages" and it keeps me "sane" and motivated.
My first hardware was Sinclair ZX Spectrum 48K back in 1984. in 6th grade of primary school. Started with Basic :) but did assembler for Z80 for a year or two (games). Seen a lot, from 3 minutes loading of the game from tape into memory (about 32KB), over pre-Internet times and phone BBS communication systems, over dial-up modems to internet and so on :)
