I believe jQuery has ruined simple searching. I used to query something like "JavaScript textarea into array" and would get several useful links on how to solve the problem using JavaScript. Now most of the links show jQuery exclusive solutions [I have to click on them and read them before I find out they are useless to me]. Why assume I am using jQuery? I am seeking to understand how to use JavaScript not jQuery. I also am tired of hearing jQuery pedants insist "but jQuery IS JavaScript." That quibble is only meaningful for those who have already adopted jQuery into their solution--for the rest of us, your solution is useless. Often questions being posted online are for how JavaScript works. Can you imagine posting a question online for "how to crack walnuts" and getting a solution "use your BMW to roll over the walnut?" When you complain "but I don't have a BMW." Then they respond "why the hell not, it's a great car!" ALL jQuery solutions should be labeled as jQuery solutions NOT JavaScript solutions.
