I really do not get the hate for Apple.
If you don't like the product for the price, you do not buy it. It's a matter of personal opinion. Some people buy expensive watches and some buy inexpensive ones. Both tell the correct time and are similar in purpose.
Everyone's priorities are different. Some people do not need gaming machines, some do not want big heavy machines, some are already in a particular ecosystem.
I personally love the stability of my macOS. I've tried most of the linux distros (Arch, Ubuntu, Elementary, Mint) and Windows (up until windows 8.1). I don't have to worry about hardware manufacturers providing me the driver just to to be able to use my graphics card. The trackpad on a macbook is just amazing. It feels more productive with all the gestures than just a mouse (enable 3 finger drag!). Most terminal commands are same as on Linux and when you're SSHed into your cloud machines, commands still feel familiar.
But I hate the touchbar.
