Hello community,
This site is great: awesome, clean interface, and easy to use. I'd really like to create my own community like this some day. I've been brainstorming how to do it for years, but its quite difficult to create something on your own, and I haven't been able to find others interested.
What if there were an open source community system like this? It would need a front-end (JavaScript) and back-end (why not JS/node?) framework. I'm working on such a framework to be the foundation for such an open source platform.
Its a huge endeavor, and I don't mean to trivialize the complexity of web apps. However, if executed properly, I feel like the developers of the world could unite and create a marvelous platform that could power a devmag, or even a facebook.
Does anyone agree?

Designing future webapps
I think creating websites like devmag.io takes lot of efforts and time. There are also factors like proper User experience and theming. I don't think anyone would open source such platforms unless backed by any bigger companies.
Overall, this is a good idea. If many developers can come together, then we can definitely have an open source version.
