Before going ahead with my decision of trying out JS in the backend; I wanted to gauge the Interner's opinion on the matter. There is a lot of negativity for JS (and NodeJS out there); more over the hosting providers, who support NodeJS out of the box are limited.
What is the reason for such indifference, or to use a strong word, hatred for JavaScript, or to put it more precisely JavaScript in the backend?
That's also why I am still using PHP as my primary back-end language. PHP7 and Laravel5 makes web development great and fun again.
