Thanks for the info @sandeep ! I've got more questions, so I've decided to write a new reply post ! Which one of you is in charge of infrastructure management and sysadmin? Does everyone play a role in it? Regarding MongoDB, I guess you're using version 3? What's the size of the current dataset ? How do you manage your backups: mongodump/snapshot and where do you store them? I'm also guessing that you're using CI/CD tools, if so which one? And a last one: what tools(s) are you using to deploy new versions of the app?

Sure.. Right now I am doing all the infrastructure management and sysadmin stuff. But going forward we'll have somebody who will handle this part dedicatedly.

We are running on MongoDB 3. As we are just starting out the data size is not huge. Backup is being done by running mongodump on one of the secondary Mongo instances. The backup is then encrypted and uploaded to our bucket on Amazon S3. Once we scale up and have huge data set, file system snapshot will be the way to go.

We are still experimenting with CI/CD. I am personally a fan of Codeship and we'll be using their service some time soon.

Regarding Node, we are using pm2 for process management and deployment workflow.

Cool, I'm not aware of the pm2 capacities regarding process management / deployment, but still good to know ! Thanks again for the info, it's nice to see a that you guys are able to give your users some transparency. @prank7 told us about your open-sourcing some of your tools, any other leads on this side?

We are working on multiple open source projects now. We will be open sourcing some of the tools that are being used internally. The first one is almost ready and we'll announce shortly. :)
