We've got this gnarly Node service from 2019 that's been on my todo list forever. Recently spent two weeks planning a full rewrite with better patterns, proper error handling, the works. Then I realized it ships one feature per quarter and hasn't had a production incident in 18 months. Killed the entire project. Technical debt is only debt if it costs you money. Otherwise it's just code that works.
