I recently came across quite some tweets about Github and hiring. For example:
Besides showing that people prefer the criteria that favor them, it seems it's a contentious issue. (I'm guilty of this too - I am active on Github, and I think it's a good hiring criterion).
What do you think?
- Is a Github (or similar) profile a good way to quickly judge a candidate?
- How important is an open source presence to actual companies?
