Which of these dev platforms do you gravitate towards, and why?
Hello everyone. I'm working on my graduate capstone course, and I'm trying to narrow down a business model from four different options.
The idea behind the prototypes comes from speaking with the dev community, and discovering young/inexperienced devs (students or junior devs) have difficulty sourcing "real-world" projects to grow, learn, and gain experience.
Each business model approaches this problem in a different way.
Internal project platform This is an internal tool for large tech companies, connecting senior devs with side projects to junior devs looking to collaborate and for mentorship.
Businesses and Academia project platform This platform would serve as a place for companies to in-directly market their tools by providing dev projects for CS students to work on. The companies would have to limit hours per week and mentor the students as well.
Nonprofits and Academia project platform This platform would connect nonprofits with dev needs to universities with a CS workforce. Students would be able to make a local impact while learning and growing from the experience. Nonprofits find the dev workforce they need to finish projects.
Developer Community project platform This platform allows experienced devs to post their passion projects with the goal of finding a junior dev team to build the project. The experienced dev would need to limit hours for the junior team, and provide mentorship to the young team.
Let me know your thoughts, thanks!
