In my experience the differences in the way women and men think is what makes women better managers than men. There is far less inter-team conflict when women are in charge, and they seem to be able to juggle multiple projects far better than a typical male manager.
I disagree with the problem solver part though. I say individuals vary in their problem solving abilities. It isn't dependent on their gender.
This is of course my own experience in Canadian IT. Other cultures and countries could be completely different.
