Nice story Dragos Bulugean,I have had similar stories with my pet projects and never be able to dedicate some time to finish them up to be a paid product. Always life and work came first when I have some spare time.

Aside from that I wanted to ask you about the JointJS. One of my pet project is heavily diagram designing. How was your experience with JointJS. I have worked with GOjs at one of my previous jobs and library-wise it is pretty heavy and complex. Which I do need its complex structure to handle many use-cases I have but I was wondering if anything else out there that I can compare against.

Serdar, I was like this with a bunch of projects until I said: "no more I will lauch something", and I commited to it. Everything was easier afterwards.

JointJS is pretty cool. Has some weaknesses like: it's built with Backbone and now my build has to include an extra 120kb just for it, and its programming model doesn't really match React's. But I am ok with it so far. I have no experience with GOjs, but I heard it's pretty good.

Yes, I agree. I just need to wrap my head around and commit to it.

You just said Backbone, and lost me there :) I worked with Backbone long enough time to love and hate it. It's data event management is wonderful but always causes memory leaks. I even tried to combine backbone with react at some point but just lead to another disaster.

I worked with GoJs for a auditing application for deloitte and it is pretty good. They have a different way of structuring their data models but once you grasp the concept, it is good and flexible. I would suggest to take a look if you are interested.
