what does "-ar 48000" do in ffmpeg , not mentioned

Thanks for catching that :) I'll be updating it now.
"-ar 48000" sets the audio sampling rate in hertz. Since computers can't store continuous waves directly, it's like taking snapshots of the sound 48000 times a second.
