IMHO, you were correct in your decision to listen to the boss and the top salesman. The younger sales team's comment, "that's not how we do things" demonstrates a significant roadblock in their operations. If the top salesperson doesn't do it their way, clearly the sales team needs to change the way they're doing things to be more inline with the system that their top producer uses to successfully lead in production. However, a prudent leader would seek input from the whole team to gain buy-in from everyone for any system finally developed. MLM
