Building a Reading Log App with the Google Books API and Ruby on Rails - Part 1

Hello Dave,

It was my pleasure. I was thinking about building a similar App with React for practice. I enjoy reading anything finance and or business-related. I'm currently reading "The Positive Side of the Street" by Napoleon Hill; I just finished his other book, "Outwitting the Devil," which was eye-opening. What's crazy is he wrote the book back in 1938, but a lot of the things he wrote about are happening today. I'd check that one out if you haven't already. Some other books I really liked that I read recently are "Atomic Habits" by James Clear, "Max out your life" by Ed Mylett, and "So Good They Can't Ignore You" by Cal Newport. I was lucky to have recently picked up "Eloquent Javascript" by Marjin Haverbeke at a garage sale a couple of weeks ago. I've only recently cracked it open, but I like what I've read so far. It's a good refresher.

How about you, Dave? What are some good books you recommend I pick up for the library?

Dave Guymon

Kory Kaai those are some great titles! I've read a couple of them and will add the rest to my book list. I, too, enjoy finance and business books. Some of my favorites in the personal finance sub-genre include "Broke Millenial," "The Index Card," and "The Richest Man in Babylon." That last title was published several decades ago as well and still proves incredibly value.
