This covers the mechanics clearly, but the framing leans optimistic in a way that could mislead the readers who most need this information. A few things worth flagging:

"Low rates" is doing a lot of work in the opening. The post itself admits rates and fees "can be higher than traditional loans," but that understates it considerably. Payday loans frequently carry APRs in the 300–600% range, and in states without rate caps they can exceed 600%. For a short-term product that's the central fact a borrower needs, not a bullet point in the "consider" section.

"Minimal credit requirements" cuts both ways. It's presented purely as accessibility, but the reason credit history matters less is that the lender isn't assessing whether the loan is sustainable for you—it's securing repayment through postdated check or ACH authorization. That's the structural difference from a bank loan, and it's what drives the well-documented debt cycle: a large share of borrowers end up reborrowing because the full balance plus fee is due in one lump sum on payday.

The alternatives section is good but ordered backwards. Credit union small-dollar loans (PALs), employer advances, and payment plans with service providers are generally the better first calls, not fallbacks. The CFPB's own guidance treats payday loans as a last resort after these options are exhausted. Listing them after the main pitch implies they're secondary.

One missing item: the post says local regulations may affect limits and fees, but doesn't tell readers to actually check their state's rules. Some states cap payday APRs in the 36% range or ban the product outright; others have no cap at all. That single check can change the entire calculus, and it takes two minutes.

The responsible-use advice at the end is sound. I'd just move the cost reality and the alternatives up front, where they'd do more good.
